The type of geography that we are learning now is different from what we have learned before , even though this is primarily the basic and introduction of people, places, and different types of systems it goes more into depth than what I was taking in high school. In high school it was generally knowing more on where places are located and learning about the culture and economy there. Now, in this type of geography, it does that but goes further to include as to why people are where they are with the use of ideological systems and graphs. Also in high school, I had to do a religion project where I could pick any religion and do research on it as to where most of the followers reside. That was interesting when looking into it more because in certain places there seems to be a correlation of where people tend to cluster around the world and what type of religion they follow. Before the project, I didn’t really think about that because it never really came to mind. I thought to myself, could this be true for where I live currently. For a state perspective, this could be true because locally there are a lot of religious christians which share the same values as I. From a nation perspective, I believe America tends to be more of an outlier because of “home of the free” and America also being known for a melting pot of cultures and religion where people can practice religion with no government interference. If you were to look at other countries where there is a cluster of religious followers who follow the same religion if could be because of the rules, laws, and society influence.
